Artist Bio

Max Hilsamer is an artist and film maker based in Berlin.
He studied Fine Arts at University of the Arts Berlin and Parsons, the New School, New York. Max works in formats such as docufiction, essay film, animation and media installation to speculate on the way power structures (particularly of the market) are internalised by the actors and permeate social life.
Often his work generates around the ideas of affirmation and co-option in social groups - and try to isolate specific moments of group dynamics to be analysed and rendered absurd or comedic.
